Christy Carlson & co-driver Adam Kneipp are set to drive the 2002 Subaru WRX again at the 100 Acre Wood Rally, Salem, Missouri February 24th and 25th 2012. The roads on the 100 Acre Wood Rally are known as some of the best roads in the nation for rallying. Fast, tight, twisty, and dry, this course is set up to test even the best driver’s skills. However, the ever changing Missouri weather in February can lead to rain, sleet, hail or even snow which can bring a dangerous and exciting element to the race. No matter what the weather though, the scenic splendor in Salem makes this rally one of the best for spectators, so make sure to bring your camera.
In addition to the fantastic roads, the car Christy is campaigning in this year is eligible for the Honey Jar Challenge. The Honey Jar Challenge will run simultaneously with the Rally in the 100 Acre Wood on February 24th and 25th, 2012. The goal of the Honey Jar Challenge is to raise the awareness of grassroots regional rally teams in a meaningful shootout style event. Any regional All-Wheel-Drive (AWD) team is eligible to enter the two-day challenge and the top-five overall finishers will split $2,500 in prize money, with the coveted Honey Jar trophy presented to the winner.
Last year Christy campaigned 100AW as her first National level rally in the 1992 Nissan Sentra SE-R in the G2 class, but a mechanical DNF took her out on day 2. Look for her to finish this year’s rally near the top of the Regional competitors.
